Where in the World?
If you browse through the Destinations and Prices pages, you will see
listings of all the itineraries we offer on passenger-carrying cargo
ships. Freighter routes are very changeable, so these pages are
frequently updated.
The Destinations and Prices listings are divided into two parts – Section
A covers voyage departing from the UK and Europe while Section B relates to more
far–flung routes, departing from elsewhere in the world.
Amongst the most popular destinations are Australia and New Zealand and several itineraries, both westabout via Panama and eastabout via Suez include ports in these
countries. As is the case with most of the longer itineraries, it is possible
to take a part voyage, for instance from Europe to Australia and vice versa. Many
people voyage one way and fly the other or voyage out, stay a while and cruise
back on another vessel. Booking well ahead, at least a year, is advised on these
voyages.
The transatlantic routes, once regularly covered by great liners, are frequently
requested and there are routes incorporating both the USA and Canada. South America is also featured, with the added bonus of a transit of the Panama Canal for those
choosing the west coast.
The Far East is well served by passenger services and many of our clients, in
addition to their voyage, choose to include a tour of China and then return either
by air or by another cargo ship.
Shorter routes include the Mediterranean and many first-time voyagers choose one
of these itineraries as a “taster” before embarking on more substantial
routes.
It is possible to book two voyages in conjunction with each other – for
example one from Europe to Singapore then another from Singapore to Australia.
However, due to the changeability of freighter schedules even more flexibility
than usual is required and you may find yourself staying ashore rather longer
than you intended between voyages!
If you don’t see the destination of your choice amongst the listings, give
us a call – we may be able to come up with an alternative suggestion.
