Michael Stearn

I have owned and run a mix of businesses over the past 35 years
including; a restaurant chain, publishing magazines, wholesale
distribution and property management. A love of travel led me to
setting up Strand Travel in 1987 and I know that the growth
and strength of the business is down to the excellent team of
dedicated staff that we have. My role at Strand is on the
business development side which allows me a spare day here and
there to enjoy a game of golf.

Paula Elliott-Smale
Managing Director
I have more years than I will admit to in this wonderfully diverse
industry. Over the years I achieved extensive all-round experience,
starting my career running a Leisure Travel Shop. I then moved into
Business Travel Management running a large office as Operations Manager
and later as Key Account Manager. I joined Strand Travel in March 2003
as General Manager. I have brought to Strand my wealth of experience
and knowledge introducing service enhancements to the benefit of new &
existing business customers. I was delighted to be appointed as Managing
Director in 2005. Our strength is in the experience and professionalism
of our team.

Rebecca Moon
Personal Assistant to Managing Director
I joined Strand in September 2004 after previously doing time at
Cosmos and Thomson head offices. In addition to supporting
Paula our MD and trying to keep on top of her ever changing
diary I am expert at doing and thinking about 50 things at once.
My job also involves all aspects of client liaison, marketing,
and ensuring we attend as many social gatherings as
possible!

I am now in my 11th Year at ‘Strand’ having joined in
1996, I have been instrumental in the expansion of the
Business Travel side of the company, with my wealth of
knowledge and experience particularly with the demands and

Kees Vermeulen
Team Manager Team 2
Born and graduated in The Netherlands I worked in Barcelona for
10 years before starting my career in the travel industry in
London 10 yrs ago. Joining Strand in October 2000, I am multilingual speaking English, Dutch,
German and Spanish and my role at Strand, apart from
supervising team 2 and being a reservations agent is giving
special attention to the needs of new clients and accounts.

I have been working in business travel over 14 years, the last 2
of which have been happily spent at Strand Business Travel
Management. I joined in June 2004 and relish the challenge of arranging the most

After 6 years working in New York City, I couldn’t resist the
chance to return to Strand Business Travel once the opportunity
presented itself. Back for my third stint, the first of which
started all the way back in 1992. The company really has come a
very long way since then and I am once again glad to be
significant part of it.

Ana-Rosa Morgado

I started my career with Thomas Cook back in 1992 as an administrator and worked my way up to the position of senior travel consultant. In 1997 I moved to British Airways’ flagship travel shop based in Regent Street, London and was employed in various departments: leisure, servicing, premier lounge and finally in their business travel unit. I then moved to BA Worldlink Business Travel based in Heathrow. After more than 9 years with BA, I moved back to London and joined Strand in September 2006. I am enjoying the mix of fashion and corporate clients - great fun!

I have been at Strand Travel since August 2004 and have furthered my career by moving from Leisure to Business Travel.
I mainly specialise in rail, but I arrange flights and hotels as
well. I am a very positive person and extremely loud and I love
socialising and travelling. I have been in travel since I left
school and love what I do very much.

My first job was in Leisure Travel, which I stayed in for 5
years, working my way up from a Trainee Travel Advisor to an
Assistant Manager. I then Moved to Ford’s as an administrator
for 3 years, however, I missed the travel industry so much I
joined Strand Travel. I have been working with the team since
March 2006. I am enjoying my new role as a Trainee Business
Travel Consultant. I am an outgoing person and love to socialize
with my family and friends.

I spent 23 years in the cruise industry, including 16 years at
sea before joining Strand in 1996. As manager of the Voyages
Department I now spend my time persuading people of the delights
of freighter travel!

Carol Pringle

I have worked with Strand Voyages since 2001. My previous travel
experience has always involved ships or long haul travel. Having
spent seven years in the Purser’s Department on board
several ships belonging to a major shipping company, I became a
Sales Executive in the long haul travel industry before
returning to “cruising” as a Sales Manager for
another leading shipping company.

Finance Assistant
I have been with Strand Travel for 5 years joining the company in 2001. My main expertise is
handling credit card queries, but I deal with other account
functions from invoicing to chasing payment. I like socialising
and making people smile when I speak to them on the telephone.
